Masoud Barzani

Salahadin, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, (Barzani Headquarters)- President Masoud Barzani received a Russian diplomatic delegation headed by Russia's ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Maxim Maximov. The ambassador began the meeting by conveying the greetings from President Vladimir Putin to President Barzani.

During the meeting, President Barzani and ambassador Maximov spoke of the political developments in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and how the new progress in terms of the Erbil-Baghdad relations is in everyone's interests.

The two sides also discussed the situation in Syria and specifically the situation in Syria Kurdistan. President Barzani hoped that Russia would play a positive role insofar as the future of the Kurds of Rojava is concerned.
