On the occasion of Newroz, the commencement of the year 2720 of the Kurdish calendar, I would like to start by wishing a happy and meaningful New Year to the families of the honorable martyrs, the valiant Peshmerga forces and all Kurds, inside Kurdistan and abroad. I wish them peace and security.
The meeting was also attended by Steve Fagin, the U.S. Consul General in Erbil. During the meeting, President Barzani and Assitant Secretary Schenker discussed the latest developments in Iraq and their impact on the Kurdistan Region
President Barzani and Senator Inhofe spoke of the relations between the peoples of the Kurdistan Region and the United States and how that relationship is of immense importance to both sides. The President also took the opportunity to thank the people and government of the United States for their crucial role in the fight against the terrorists of the Islamic State
