Masoud Barzani

President Masoud Barzani held a meeting with a number of Muslim, Christian and Yezidi clergymen in Dohuk. During the meeting, President Barzani emphasized on the people of Kurdistan's long history of coexistence between the different religious and ethnic components and how that fact serves as a source of pride to the entirety of the Kurdistan Region.

He added that the current crisis that the Kurdistan Region is facing is a temporary obstacle and that the results of the Kurdistan Independence Referendum cannot be dissolved under any circumstances.

President Barzani also stated that there ought to be peaceful settlements to the disputes between Erbil and Baghdad through negotiations and dialogue, but added that the people of the Kurdistan Region will never accept oppressive measures.
